21st CCLC The 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Program is a component of the No Child Left Behind Act. It is an opportunity for students and their families to continue to learn new skills and discover new abilities after the school day has ended. The focus of this program is to provide enrichment opportunities for children. Tutorial services and academic enrichment activities are designed to help students meet local and state academic standards in subjects such as language arts, reading and math. In addition, 21st CCLC programs provide youth development activities, technology education programs, art, music and recreation programs to enhance the academic component of the program. This information is taken from the program website listed below. To learn more about the 21st CCLC program on a national level, please visit: http://www.ed.gov/programs/21stcclc/index.html |

The 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant brings
many opportunities to all five schools in the Rutland Southwest
Supervisory Union, providing funding and support for before and after
school programming. A diverse range of successful academic, wellness
and enrichment activities have been developed and implemented throughout
the RSWSU as a result of grant funding. Popular activities include
Rock Climbing, arts clubs, nutritional programming and academic support.
In addition to programs developed and implemented through the grant,
funding supports existing school-based activities such as Odyssey of the
Mind, art enrichment, music lessons and much more. 21st CCLC Programs allow RSWSU students and educators to
network with local artists, writers and professionals. We are fortunate
to be surrounded by several institutions of higher learning, which provide
the use of their facilities, innovative arts programming, specialized
instructors and volunteers for our school-based programs. Community
partnerships include:
