Principal’s Perspective
It is hard to believe that this year has come to a close, and that the students will be leaving to enjoy the few months of summer. We have many proud moments to look back upon and your children, as well as yourselves, have made this year one filled with learning, laughter and many new and exciting experiences for all. I look forward to next year being filled with many more adventures and learning opportunities for everyone!
I would like to congratulate our Grade 6 students and teachers, Keith Harrington and Tia Hewes, as well as Instructional Assistant Gerri Harrison. These folks, along with the support of many other specialists and parents, put on an amazing Advancement Night here on Wednesday. The student leaders were poised, the presenters were well-prepared and well-spoken, and the ceremony was organized and beautiful to reflect the students’ years here at PES. It was a pleasure to be a part of such a fine evening and I thank you!
On Thursday, the whole school participated in the Keezer Memorial Walk for Literacy. We raised over $250 in donations and had a wonderful time coming together as a community to remember and honor such a fine educator. Upon returning to the school, we had our VIP BBQ, planted in the Keezer Memorial Garden, and had a visit from the National Guard helicopter! A fun time was had by all, and we thank everyone who made this day possible, as well as those members of the community who came out to join in the fun!
Special thanks to Erika Valenti, Linda Leach, Trish Capron, Eleanor Tison, and Leanna and Joe DeBonis for their assistance with planning and organizing this event, as well to Jonas Rosenthal and Sergeant Josh Lemieux of the VT State Police for leading us on our tour around town. One last thank you to Sergeant John Herriman of the VT National Guard for making the helicopter possible…it was really cool!
Please remember that if you are interested in Stewart’s vouchers for eggs and milk, as well as boxed cereal, please give a call to the school or to the food shelf at 287-9558. All calls will be kept confidential and this is just a way to offer support for you and your children.
I hope you have a wonderful summer and find time to enjoy your wonderful children!
See you in August!
