Text Box: ASSESSMENT RESULTS
2005-2007

Text Box: Local and State Assessments

Text Box: In grades 3-6, the percent of students proficient or proficient with distinction on the NECAP for the years 2006 and 2007 are listed to the right.

Text Box: Percent of Grade 2 students achieving or exceeding the standards.

Text Box:

Text Box: The NECAP tests are designed to measure students’ progress in meeting Vermont’s Grade Level Expectations, or GLEs.  The reading and math tests require students to answer multiple choice questions, in addition to constructed response questions, which require the students to write answers to prompts, including details and explanations.  The NECAP is designed differently than other tests and it is important to mention that a single year’s test results provide limited information about a school or district.  The NECAP was designed primarily to provide detailed school-level results and accurate summary information about individual students, and to address program and curricular needs over time.

Text Box: The DRA is given to all Grade Two students, to assess reading accuracy and fluency through oral reading.  Comprehension skills are assessed by the retelling of the story.
